• John Loves pastry , I love savory !
  • after all the Banana bread,Hummingbird cake & Pumpkin tea bread, I was ready for a savory concoction,
  • I rolled out a Pillsbury refrigerated pie crust to be slightly square
  • then laid it out onto a jelly roll pan lined with parchment paper*
  • slathered some butter on every inch of it [if you use room temp butter you don’t use that much of it.
  • sprinkled quite a bit of sesame seeds over all of it , next sprinkle on to sesame seeks a nice amount of [i use  Mc Cormick ‘gourmet collection’  *Herbs De Provence
  • Drizzle EVOO over all
  • I usually have a roll of Prosciutto Panino in frig, and yes i did have 1/2 a roll [you can find it in w/ the gourmet cheeses. it’s * Del Duca brand and it’s a slab of Prosciutto rolled in mozzarella cheese] roll it out carefully…and break up the Prosciutto & M cheese leaving a 1 inch border free.
  • next..and this will be difficult unless you canned /or froze some baked grape tomatoes* I’ll post recipe for these later]… yummy juicy Grape tomatoes are readily available, and baked they have an incredibly beautiful taste. it’s worth it to purchase a few baskets, and roast them*I had yellow and red grape tomatoes from the farmers market on Kings drive in Charlotte, roasted them and froze them in the tiny ball jelly jars so they are at the ready. you can do this too…it’s easy, previously i showed a photo of my roasted large tomatoes…it’s the same recipe.
  •  took that pretty little jar of goodness and dispersed the tomatoes over the cheese.
  • John went into garden to pick fresh basil ,the aroma is so healing.
  • next  grated some Romano cheese over tomatoes…
  • then rolled it carefully and not too tight.
  • there will be a collection of EVOO and sesame seeds, and herbs on the parchment paper.. made sure to roll the pastry in all the seeds top and bottom to collect every flavour morsel.
  • the first photo of the pan out of the oven is how it appears after 30 minutes…it was not long enough
  • so back it went for another good 15 minutes.
  • we split it in Half
  • I got up to take a photo of my some what eaten piece !
  • it is so yummy…I hope you will try this recipe, and the tomatoes…it is so fast and easy when the tomatoes are ready and waiting.
  • Enjoy
